Mr. Krauter is a digital 3D artist specializing in Technical themes and Science Fiction. His work can be seen on the covers of the Science Fiction magazines such as Analog, Asimov's and Science Fiction Age. He also creates animation for film and video using the same software.
After a 15+ year career as an illustrator and 6 year stint as a 3d graphics instructor at
 
a Bay Area university, I'm now a full time visual effects artist and part time science fiction artist.
Mr. Krauter received his BFA in 1988 from the State University of New York at Stonybrook.
So far the VFX have been in a few features, the latest being "Speed Racer," which was released in May of 2008.
 
Currently I'm doing vfx work for commercials and will be working on another feature or two soon after.
In 1996 he was nominated for one of the prestigious Hugo® Awards for Best Original Artwork—the first time ever a digital artist was nominated for that award.
