It comes to an end at last!  It is difficult to believe that I have been here for four years, come and gone.  I've seen the forum go from an orginization worried about dying out as the members graduate, where a shift could be compared to a sensory deprivation experiment to a large group with a lot of energy.  I have seen our room shift and have seem people come and go.  Of the people that were here when I entered only Fred and John still remain.  The character of the forum has indeed changed, there are more people and more personal conflicts within the group.
The people I have come to know here I consider the best friends I have ever had.  So I would like to offer a little advice on how to keep it all together.
What I have done here, what I consider to be the best policy is to be yourself and accept other people as they are.  Sure they aren't perfect, they certainly don't meet your standards of perfection, but they themselves are the ones most hurt by any imperfections.  Science Fiction has always been a method for me to strive to reach the goal of cosmic perspective.  This means transcending the subjectivity of the circumstances life has handed me by examining and trying to come to understand the perspective of as many of those who live by different circumstances as much as possible.  This policy of walking miles in the other person's shoes before judging them I believe has made me a more tolerant person, I also try to never lock a person into the stereotype of the behavior and personality that they had yesterday.
Being mellow about others makes life much easier since you don't have to worry about something beyond your control, another human being.  I suppose I am laying it on a bit thick it is just that I love this group so much individually and collectively that it hurts me when two or more of the people I consider my closest friends consider each other enemies.  My advice is offered free and you may take it as worth as much but I ask you to consider it, it might help."</blockquote>

My advice is offered free and you may take it as worth as much but I ask you to consider it, it might help."
