Festivus is celebrated on December 23. It was invented in 1966 by Reader's Digest author Dan O'Keefe and was popularized by the Seinfeld episode "The Strike", which originally aired on December 18, 1997. The Forum had been celebrating Festivus, with the Festivus Pole since before 2001, but first practiced the feats of strength and airing of grievances in 2005.
The Forum typically concludes Festivus with a showing of the "Star Wars Holiday Special".
