I come once again with a formal update on the CLC and Student Engagement situation. Last Thursday the Forum had a meeting with CLC and Student Engagement to discuss the fate of the forum in the 2025/2026 year. The bullet points of the meeting are as followed: 1. The forum lounge (l06-08) will be removed from forum ownership in the 2025/2026 year 2. there are currently no plans to remove the forum library (l06-09) at this time 3. The current leading plan is to turn the forum into "a holistic club space" which would function similar to how we currently function but no longer have the Science Fiction Forum label on it. 4. Great stress was given by the faculty that there will be time for future meetings and discussions on how the space will be changed Currently that's all the most notable points of the meeting. There was however a large amount of questions and clarifications asked during the meeting. Thanks to the hard work of Jared Tjahjadi Erin Petersen and myself we have completed a full transcript of the meeting including transcript notes added to give further clarification. The link to this transcript is attatched below Finally we would like to give a warm thank you to Howard and the Destines team at WUSB for giving me, Chris (Incoming President of SF4M), Thoren (president of LGBT+ Alliance), and Divine (President of Animated Perspective) a platform to speak about the removal of club specific spaces on Stony Brook University. We encourage people to please give a listen at the link below to find out more information about how this campus wide policy affects not only the forum but other great clubs on campus (the link is active for one week before an edited version will be released at a later date) Thank you all for sticking with us! Moving forward the forum is looking for a possible new home. If anyone has any tips about locations or organizations that can take us in please reach out!
