Since the last update we have met with Undergraduate Student Government and explained the situation to them. USG has offered their support and allowed us to post and share our petition at the Roth Regatta last Friday. Thanks to this and the hard work of all involved (yourselves included) we have surpassed 1,000 signatures! Unfortunately Campus Life Centers has not reached out to either clarify or revoke their decision yet. We also got a few questions about the limitations on our emailing request. We wanna update and clarify our previous statement about who to reach out to since it was unnecessarily restrictive. If you have personal connections to people you believe may be able to help our club and/or the other clubs in danger, whether that be directly to administration or to parties that may be interested, feel free to reach out to them at your discretion. We are very appreciative of all the support you all have given us so far. We have full faith that together we can stop Stony Brook from removing club life on campus! We should have more information on this situation in the following week. In other news, thanks to the hard work of myself and many other Forumites, we have completed our website catalogue of Forum Officers from 2012-2024! Tracking down the names of the old eboard was trickier then expected but we are very proud to have a complete record spanning the very first entry in 2012 till present day. However, currently we are lacking photos of many of the officers from the mid to late 2010’s. if you were on the eboard between 2012-2024 and have not gotten the chance to upload a photo of yourself, please reach out to me and i can add your photo. preferably a picture of yourself from the time you were in the forum. If you noticed an error in the record keeping please reach out. You can see the current list of eboard members here: https://sf4m.org/old_eboard_index.html We are also considering adding in complete Eboard lists from before 2012. The current eboard lacks the detailed information necessary to create an accurate record; but, if anyone is interested in sharing documentation on the previous eboards feel free to send it to me or the forum gmail “sf4m.library@gmail.com”. For those curious, the newsletter will be resumed come next semester; furthermore, all the meeting notes since 2019 have been posted on the alumni discord. Feel free to join if you haven’t already: https://discord.gg/ysn6xaWE It was great seeing many of you again at the alumni picnic yesterday! We all had a great time and appreciate the effort spent setting it up. We look forward to next years! Per request the upcoming Eboard will be more involved in planning it. More details will be released in the coming months.
