1272067089 Meeting 4/22/10 Meeting notes 4/22/10 Meeting opens at 7:06 President: Hi. Lucas. Tired. Not motivated. Nominations are next week. President, we’re gonna vote secretary (no offense Adele). We also have Historian and Treasurer. Other than that, if you haven’t heard already, HvZ is going to happen next semester, but not through us obviously. Vice President: Oh, boy. A lot of things, actually. I’m trying to get the whiteboard straightened out. The mounting equipment should come soon; hopefully we can get it up before the end of the semester. We’re waiting to hear back from Tabletop Hooligans. Now I get to put on the bad cop hat. The white trashcan is for RECYCLABLES ONLY. The trashcan with the black trash bag is for trash. The next big, big thing is that twice in a twenty-four hour period the door was left unlocked for more than an hour. We have an access list for a reason. The reason this really bothers the hell out of me is all we need is an admin to come around and file a report, and we’re in a lot of trouble. Read: Gamer guys on Tuesday night. {Roman takes over} The next thing is the food garbage situation is getting really bad AGAIN. There are soda bottles and cups. I keep finding half-drunk Aquafina bottles ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. Throw out your shit! We are either at the end of the semester going to ban food from the 4M, or you will have to check in your food when you walk in. Throw your stuff out, even if you’re still in the room. Feel free to use the fridge. We could even start selling water bottles (probably about a quarter; the proceeds would go to buy more). Or get a pitcher and fill it up. Or a water cooler. I am giving you guys until the end of the semester. If I come in in the morning, if there’s food and bottles of water, I will start that Fascist program, and you will log it in. Also, good news, we found Lysol. Jmax again: I will ban food next semester if I have to. I will be that guy, don’t doubt me. On the subject of Tabletop Hooligans, Spector resurrects the idea of a 4M podcast. Treasurer: We had a problem last week. The voucher for the food for the program didn’t go through because it was late. What they can do is reimburse us for anything that’s not food. We can get paper products and stuff. We could possibly bring our own food. Lukas wants to get charcoal with the budget. We made some money from HvZ. It went back to USG and into our budget. Secretary: Hello. I have nothing to say. Librarian: I’m going to be in tomorrow. We got the cards in, so all new books will be in the system. We’re out of barcodes for library cards. There seem to be a lot of people who don’t know how to use the system. GO TO LUKAS. Head AC: I’m going to contradict myself. You’re all slobs and don’t deserve anything nice. I’m allocating for a blueray player. We need to pick and choose which movies should be on blueray. Transformers and Avatar: yes. Psycho: no. I want to have a discussion about the possibility of an on demand Netflix account. I am against it, but we can discuss it in two weeks. Bring talking points. Also, our DVD remote no longer works. We are getting a universal remote. Here’s the grant situation. We’re working on getting steel bookshelves (Lukas is waiting on an estimate) and a High-Definition TV. Sub AC for Life: April’s movies came in. We got Armageddon, Hackers, and Strange Days. My master list is now less than a page long, which means I am running out of movies to buy. I haven’t done a check yet, Because Roman wants to have an exhaustive list of all our movies. I also want to talk to Roman about what we need to upgrade from VHS. The criteria are that it must be a) SF b) Fantasy c) Horror d) American animation, or any anime that made contributions to American film. Historian: Story of the Roth Pond Regatta. Committees: PR: Jackie, Holly, where are you?! We have a website. Fundraising: Where is the Hat’s mojo?! Authors: Aaron is missing. Old Business: Clean! New Business: Roman allocates to Best Buy $459.97. Motion passes. Lukas wants to allocate the remainder of our budget to Home Depot for supplies. This is about $140. Motion passes. I would also like to make a conditional allocation in case Best Buy does not go through. I want to spend $200 at BJ’s for supplies for picnic. Announcements: If you are interested in helping out with the Regatta, talk to Mo. We don’t know what we’re building yet. Spector wants to run a Simpsons marathon next Thursday. Lukas announces for Mo: Graduate bowling around 8:30 tonight. It is free. Tomorrow Mo is planning to go see Avatar in the Rec Field at 8:30 (near North P). Call Mo!!! There will be a nineties nostalgia night at 7 pm in Mendelssohn. Call Lukas for info. Meeting closes at 8:02
