Meeting 2/25/10 [Feb. 26th, 2010|12:02 pm] acicc Meeting notes 2/25/10 Meeting opens at 7:05 President: I understand that it’s midterm season. I want you all to work hard, study, but stay cool about it. The word of the day is “chill.” There were too many laptops in the forum today. Three is almost too much. Vice President: There was shelving on Saturday. Now we have loads of space. Hopefully anthologies will be shelved soon. I think the shiftholder’s desk should be moved to the series area so they can see more of the forum. (Discussion ensues. Probably a bad idea) Treasurer: Budget was submitted. We have a budget meeting tomorrow at one. Another officer needs to go with me. We need a system of submitting books to USG so they can order them more efficiently. Can we do a digital list? Secretary: Hi. I soaked through two pairs of sneakers today. Librarian: Shiftholding has started this week. Write in the log after you finish your shift so I know that you’re doing your job. I still need someone for Tuesday’s 3-4 pm. I also have a book allocation. Anthologies will be put on the shelf we just cleared off. They go in alphabetical order by title, not author. We got our last order from USG. Pete picked them up. Head AC: I’m here. I wanted to show up and discuss some stuff. I moved boxes that were by the TV and set up game consoles. However, I don’t want people to play games all the time. Keep it to a reasonable level. Try watching a movie instead. Put stuff away when you are done with it! That goes for DVD’s and books also! We’re in too vulnerable a state in terms of organization for people to just be throwing shit around. I found a lockable cabinet for cheap ($220 at Best Buy w/ shipping). We should get it and put DVD A/V stuff in it. If any alumni want to donate a shelf/entertainment center for the TV, we will be eternally grateful. AC’s, we need events!!! I want to bring back dramatic readings. We have a few options. If anyone else wants to run that, they have my blessing. Sub AC for Life: Addendum to Head AC: If I find any DVD’s missing, you will pay me. Then you will know pain, then you will know fear, then you will DIE. I finished the first module of my Dr. Who RPG. No one has yet died. I want a cabinet. Historian: The Story of TV Night. Does anyone know where the old VHS tapes are? Committees: PR: Absent! But, we have posters. Take them and hang them! We have a website. Fundraising: The hat strikes again. Two weeks ago we discussed an author’s committee. We will try to form one. Old Business: There is a shelf-building event pending. New Business: Jmaxx wants a bigger garbage can. Phil wants a recycling bin, but we might need to wait. Jmaxx wants to get a white board (from Staples (includes markers & eraser)) for the wall next to the TV. This will cost $100. Motion passes. Book allocation $130.15 from Amazon. Motion passes. Announcements: Clean! Roman’s game will be starting on Monday around 6 pm. ICON is coming up. Volunteers: If you are a forumite getting membership to ICON for the membership track, split your time equally. Last Friday some of us went swimming at 8:30. A good time was had by all. This will continue. Show up. Meeting closes at 7:56 pm.
