2/11/10 Meeting Notes [Feb. 11th, 2010|09:51 pm] acicc Meeting notes 2/11/10 Meeting called to order at 7:11 PM President: Today is my half birthday, so be nice to me. I was talking to Pete over the weekend, and he would like to plan some events. We will discuss during Head AC report. Vice President: Clean up your shit. If you have side convos it’s going to slow us down. Catch up afterwards. Treasurer: I went to a meeting that told me how to do my job. It was somewhat interesting. They have lots of money to give out for grants this year. Secretary: I have nothing to say. Someone needs to tell me how to use my computer. Librarian: Phil has a book order ( 10 books). Another book order was sent in last week, along with software vouchers. Feel free to start holding shifts, but we don’t have to software yet, so it’s not required. When it is, I will post it to every available media. Aaron: We have a new computer for the librarian’s PC. It’s faster. There will be a spare modem for catalogue access ONLY! There is a third computer on the librarian’s desk. If you touch it I will beat you to death with a keyboard. Other things will be migrating in that way soon. We have a website. {Cue techno-babble between Presarian & Aaron} I can link the catalogue to ICON to display which of their speaking authors we are stocking. Head AC: In Roman’s absence, Ian speaks: I will speak to Roman soon about how to spend our money. I will recommend Avatar: The Last Airbender. A previous AC wanted us to have a more child-friendly section. Also, the rest of Stargate. We haven’t heard from the Harriman Hall building manager. Any concerns, talk to someone else. Adib: Possible Wolfman run soon. Lukas: Dramatic readings may return. Anyone have any ideas for activities to reach larger groups of people? Aaron wanted to invite authors to campus, but it seems we need a committee for that, and don’t have much money. Tabled for later, but we should formulate a committee this semester and try for grants. Aaron wants to do joint grants with other clubs so that it doesn’t only affect our budget. Sub AC for Life: Absent. Historian: Absent. Aaron: The Story of Sherman Raftenburg PR Committee: I am trying to print out bookmarks to distribute at ICON. Fundraising: The Hat strikes again! Old Business: Clean! ICON is coming up, and we need to decide what we’re doing about the 4M. Should we unlock it? Old Forumites like to come and visit, but we’d need to man the forum, and it’s a mess. Should we do tours daily? This will be discussed later. Contact Lukas on LiveJournal. New Business: Aaron will go to Home Depot to buy light bulbs. Aaron: I motion to form a committee to look into getting authors on campus. Motion passes. Announcements: New word: Agathowned- you have been owned by Agatha Christie! Meeting closes at 7:51.
