Meeting notes: November 5th, 2009 [Nov. 5th, 2009|10:10 pm] hoskie Meeting called to order at 8:31 PM President’s Report: We talked to Victor and we looked at the footage. We have some leads but nothing conclusive. The contractors are supposed to dispose of the door because of the asbestos, if they don’t campus is libel. Don’t give us a hard time if you don’t think campus is going to do anything. Either way, it makes us look bad. We need campus’s cooperation to get things fixed with our current room, so we want to stay in their good graces. If you have the door, give it back. PLEASE. Vice President’s Report: I met with Maria and scheduled Festivus. Sorry for those of you who don’t like the date, but it’s going to be Saturday, December 5th in Union room 236 from 12:00 – 6:00 PM. Clean. Treasurer’s Report: The allocation for the DVDs from last week went through. Secretary’s Report: This is really more AC business but… I’ll be doing a Best of Dr. Rodney McKay marathon this Tuesday (November 10th) from around 12:00 to 5:00. Librarian’s Report: We have the library computer set up, this is good news. The bad news is that ResourceMate has expired and we’re not paying for the renewal. Aaron is working on something for us with a base from open source catalogue software. He said he’d get it up next week. We might actually use the old catalogue (after cards but before Kingbird’s Betrayal – we love you, Kingbird!) in the meantime. Howie: Kingbird is a great guy. He has lovely plumage. AC Report: Your evil ACs are planning on spending your money again this week. I’ll be making allocations later. Final Fantasy IX is thankfully done. There will be no video games until at least next Thursday. I want at least a week break, at which point it’ll probably be first come first serve as to what we play next. Once we get Hercules in, Peter will be running a Hercules marathon. When Adib was Head AC, he secured a room for us every other week so we could run movie nights. The first one will Wednesday, November 11th from 7:00 to 11:30pm. Not sure of the theme yet. Festivus – feats of strength, airing of grievances. The Forum will probably be open at least an hour before hand so old Forumites can come check it out. Thanks to Holly for bringing us a garbage can! Howie: The Pinky and the Brain marathon I was planning didn’t happen, but I’m thinking of doing it next Thursday. Lukas: Last week, Holly mentioned the idea of doing a Festivus gift exchange. If you’re interested in participating, bring a gift to Festivus ($5 – 10 price limit). Sub AC for Life: Not present. Historian’s Report (Lisa): *The Tale of the Forum Halloween Rave* WE HAVE A WEBSITE, DAMMIT. It’s: SF4M.org. Use it! Committees PR: I guess we’ll make posters for Festivus? Fundraising (Peter’s Hat Committee): “If there’s a peso in there… give it back.” - Lisa Old Business Peter: Shelve! Lukas: Clean! Howie: Cleave! Phil: Grapple! Jackie: Constitution change reminder! … that’ll be happening next week. New Business Ian: I would like to allocate no greater than $150 to Quiznos for food for Festivus. This will accommodate vegetarians, but the vegans can fend for themselves. Seconded. Acclimated. I would also like to make an allocation for no more than $100 (I don’t know the exact prices right now, but just to be on the safe side) to get us more board games, particularly: “Doctor Who Scene It?” and “Star Trek Scene It?”. Seconded. Acclimated. Announcements Ian: Historian! Where are you? We miss you! Steph: Thursday night I’m starting Nerf Night. Campus security is perfectly fine with it. Peter: The hat continues to rake in cash! Lisa: … timing! Meeting closed at 9:07 PM
