Meeting notes: September 24th, 2009 [Sep. 24th, 2009|10:22 pm] hoskie Meeting called to order at 8:30 PM President’s Report: SILENCE! Despite all objects and all predictions, fourteen days into my term… I am still president! I’m currently working with Aaron to figure out what’s going on with our key situation (i.e. getting keys to the new rooms for officers). We no longer have access to our old rooms, everything is gone from there except for a few select things (mostly shelves) that we marked and they put into storage for us. Vice President’s Report: Clean. Do things to make the Forum less messy. I scheduled a meeting with USG Howie for this Friday to discuss the lighting situation in the Forum, but that appointment got canceled, so I have to make another one. Treasurer’s Report: I worked with Julia to figure out the budget and all the necessary revisions have been taken care of. I’ll be submitting it through the proper channels soon. Secretary’s Report: I haven’t done much shelving this week, so I am no longer angry at the alphabet. Librarian’s Report: We’re still unpacking, we should be done soon. Hopefully. … we still need people to fill out shiftholder schedules. Lisa Selitzer, who was secretary from 1979-1984, passed away earlier this month. She was responsible for the existence of the Forum’s Braille collection. Aaron put forth the idea that we name the Braille collection after her. Motion passes. AC Report (Roman): We no longer have a Head AC, Adib recently resigned. At the end of the meeting we’ll be taking nominations and we’ll be voting next meeting. Sub AC for Life: Sub AC for Life feels useless because he has no DVDs to check. Committees PR: We now have a way of announcing things on the official Stony Brook calendar. Fundraising: He can dance if he wants to. He can leave his friends behind. Old Business Jackie: CLEAN. Roman: We’re still in Rm. 226 – so I guess the issue with KCF wanting our room has been resolved. Peter: Shelve. Roman: As was mentioned in last week’s meeting, we are voting to change a clause in our constitution that says we have to have bi-weekly meetings in the summer. Jackie: Taking it out does not mean that we CAN’T have meetings over the summer, but if we leave it in and we DON’T have those bi-weekly meetings then we are defying our constitution and we don’t want to do that. Motion passes. Said clause is now removed. New Business Roman: We should start planning our Halloween festivities now. Announcements Ian: Heroes… didn’t suck. Holly: Phil says ‘hi.’ Jackie: Matt W. just got a really awesome job, so congrats! Meeting closed at 9:05 PM Om-nom-nominations for Head AC Ian Aaron Lukas Howie Phil Hoskie
