Meeting Notes: September 10th, 2009 [Sep. 10th, 2009|10:47 pm] hoskie Meeting called to order at 8:29 PM Acting President’s Report: We still don’t have a president! Vice President’s Report: The Forum is more organised in its chaos than it was previously. Please remember to take out your trash (also bear in mind we don’t have a vacuum cleaner yet). Acting Treasurer’s Report: We still don’t have a treasurer… but our budget this year is in and it is: $2959.68. We can do that thing where we appeal and try to get more money, the deadline for that is September 29th and that’s probably what we’re going to do. Secretary’s Report: I have Beatles: Rock Band. I want to go home and play it. I know this is an election meeting, but let’s try to keep this brief! Librarian’s Report: I’m looking for people to start filling out shiftholder schedules – I left some on the table, you can just leave them there and I will come and get them. Though the library is not operational right now, I was thinking that shiftholders could work on shelving and trying to get the books in order. Aaron, interjects: We have space, theoretically (for a little while at least) to store the doubles. 020, our old library room, is not going to be used at least for this semester. AC Report: On Monday I need someone with a car that’s bigger than a Mini Cooper to come to my house and pick up the television and help me bring it into the Forum. We want to have it in place before the Involvement Fair. Sub AC for Life: I really don’t have anything to report because I can’t do my checks right now. We need some way of storing the DVDs… Historian’s Report (Roman): Long long ago at about 3 PM to-day, Roman had a full bladder and thus he went to relieve himself in the bowels and sewers of Stony Brook University. Our current space doesn’t have good phone reception, and Roman had zero bars. When Roman left the Forum his phone became connected to the outside world. Roman gets to the urinals and someone is already there. I then received a text message (and for those who don’t know my text message alert is the Transformers “transform” noise). My cock transformed and rolled out. And this was the glorious Fall of 2009. Committees Jackie: We don’t have any official committees, technically. Next week we’re going to vote people into positions. Old Business CLEAN. SHELVE. New Business Jackie: I would like to point out our beautiful beautiful constitution! It was lost for a while, but Lukas rescued it. If you have anything to propose for it, next meeting would be the time. I would like to take out the part about meeting every other week in the summer because we don’t do that, this is something to be discussed and we’ll be voting on that in two weeks. Also, the Involvement Fair is next Wednesday during campus life time, you should come by and help us if you can. Aaron: We cleared room for the table so we have some sort of lounge space now. Vest Paul: I would like to eventually do an inventory of what we have and what it’s worth… Announcements Howie: I’m planning on starting at D&D game. We’ll be meeting in the Forum this Sunday at 5:00 PM for character generation and to discuss what day and time would be best for us for to meet regularly. Em: September 19th, I believe, is the first open casting call for Rocky Horror Long Island. There is also open casting for understudies for the Zydrate Enthusiasts production of Repo! The Genetic Opera. Contact The Jim for more information. Phil: The Forum has a Twitter. Aaron: Spider Robinson is an alum of both Stony Brook and the Forum and his wife is very ill. There is information about making donations on the Forum LiveJournal. Peter: … on a happier note, I’m turning 21 on Saturday! Phil: Nathan Fillion will be doing a signing at the Apple Store in Soho on Friday, September 18th. More information at: http://www.apple.com/retail/soho/ Meeting closed at 8:58 PM ELECTION TIME IS NOW! Your newly elected officers are… President: Roman Treasurer: Peter
