Meeting notes: May 7th, 2009 [May. 7th, 2009|09:20 pm] hoskie Meeting called to order 8:00 PM President’s Report: I had meetings with USG Howie and I found out some details which I will explain in the move report. USG has been hateful and surprisingly confusing to us. Vice President’s Report: CLEAN… and I like hippos. Treasurer’s Report (Ian): The allocations that went through were for power tools, bags & boards from Fourth World (though not the $800 allocation to expand our library, of course!) and I have no idea what the status of the Star Trek ticket allocation is as of now. Julia had a meeting with Maria to-day, but I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to her yet. Secretary’s Report: Uuuuugh. I got nothin’. Librarian’s Report: Does everyone know the R.E.M. song “Losing My Religion”? Well… my faith in USG has been shattered. I’m so broken hearted. On Saturday, it was just Phil and I for a while… then Peter came, so did Vest Paul for a while, Darryl and AA were also a big help. Thanks for coming. We just have the doubles packed at this point… the library is a fucking mess. Obviously, the bulk of this move is going to be happening… soon. The tentative date is going to be around the 30th or 31st. AC’s Report: I gotta poop. That’s about it. Sub AC for Life: Everything in the cabinet is accounted for. Historian’s Report (Ian): To-morrow is Regatta. YOU DON’T TOUCH THAT CARDBOARD. That is our moving cardboard! Committees The Move: USG Howie has finally got an estimate for the lighting, so that is being taken care of at last. He won’t be able to get us keycard access right away, and he believes something like that would cost around $2500 and he MIGHT be able to get it to us early if we can help out with the cost. We have other priorities, but it is something we’re thinking about. We officially HAVE TO BE OUT of our current rooms by JUNE 15th. We tried to get people to start talking about this on various internet locations (LJ, Yahoo) last week - HINT HINT - but we have determined that the earliest that we, the current students, would realistically be able group together and start doing a massive workload would be May 30th or 31st. If you have a preference, start talking! I know people were talking about spreading it out over a few days and we probably will have to, but regardless, we would still like to organise one really big day to get a lot of work done. ALUMNI, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE… WE NEED YOUR HELP. PR: I printed up a lot of pretty flyers to-day! Old Business Ian: Did I mention we’re moving? … and we have to be out by June 15th? Jackie: CLEAN! New Business Ian: CLEAN. By the way… we’re moving! This is the last meeting before the move. AA: Anyone who was here during campus lifetime on Wednesday and didn’t come to my show. YOU ALL SUCK. Announcements Hoskie: There is this awesome event happening at the Paley Center for Media this coming Tuesday, May 12th at 6:30 PM called “Star Trek Smackdown.” I’m planning on going. JC: I’m trying, and failing, to get into contact with Turtle so he can give people moderator access to the Forum LiveJournal community, so people who are more active can deal with the spam.
