Meeting Notes: April 30th, 2009 [May. 1st, 2009|11:50 am] alwaysbored89 Hoskie seems to have forgotten to post them here, so I'm copying from the yahoo group. ~~~ Meeting called to order at 7:52 PM President's Report: All signatories this week are very very tired and cranky, so you should not anger the signatories because we are filled with Dragon Rage. Vice President's Report: Clean. Treasurer's Report (Ian): FUCK USG! This all started with the allocations from last week, where we made an $800 book allocation a $200 allocation for the picnic. Our book allocation was denied and I believe the reasoning was that the books would not be a useful investment because it would be in too late for students of this semester to enjoy. Apparently, this sort of thing has been happening to a lot of clubs. Also, our allocation for Fourth World still hasn't come in. All of USG's cheques have been running late this week, but they're swearing it'll be in by to-morrow morning. They seemed to be having a problem with the picnic allocation as well. We had an emergency meeting on Tuesday to try and figure out what we're going to do with the left over money from our denied allocations. Three subsidiary allocations were created to find things that wouldn't fall under this imaginary deadline with things that could be used this semester (they were power tools for the move, more money to Fourth World to buy bags and boards for the pulps, and book repair supplies from Demco). The last allocation was for around $260 of tickets to Star Trek which we were justifying as an advertising measure in which we would give out free tickets to the students and inform them about our library and the move. The other problem we have, besides the Schrödinger's picnic, is that the Demco order didn't go through because apparently there is a deadline for online orders (I have never heard of this before). Luckily, the Demco order was the smallest of all our emergency allocations, but this is still infuriating. Secretary's Report: Aaron posted the notes for the emergency meeting to the LJ. Librarian's Report (Ian): People have been making good progress packing the doubles. Mazel Tov to all of you. We understand that academic schedules have gotten more hectic as of late, but if you're not doing anything important, you should come to your shift. This Saturday, we'll be doing a lot of packing. It is not the outright move date, but it would be great if people could come in. We should be starting sometime around 10:00 or 11:00. Lukas: That about covers it. AC's Report: Sorry, I haven't been doing much lately. Clean, please. The picnic will be May 17th, we'll probably be doing a potluck or something. More details later. AA, interjects: Mohammed also volunteered his place if we don't want to do it at our usual place. Aaron: We're going to do a run to the midnight showing of Star Trek (this is our personal run, not the thing with the tickets we're buying). The night of May 7th. I'll be making a separate post about this later. Ian: We'll be going to see WOLVERINE at the Stony Brook Loews theatre at 9:10 PM this Saturday (May 2nd) after the packing. We recommend you get your tickets in advance. Sub AC for Life: The new movies came in. We've rendered some more VHS tapes obsolete. Historian's Report: I don't want to be Historian anymore because I don't have the time to devote for it. I want it to be him. *points to Skip* Skip: What? Adib, interjects: Once, there was a guy named J-Max and he used to get people to go outside to play frisbee. You lazy fucks. Howie, Matt, and I have been going outside when it's nice to play frisbee, more of you guys should come along. Committees The Move (Ian): I've spoken to USG Howie and the EARLIEST we would be able to move into the new room would be May 18th. This isn't when we have to move out by, but that's the earliest we'll be able to access the room in the Union. I'll be meeting with him again to-morrow and check with him to see what the best time would be for us to do so. The upcoming weekend would be Memorial Day weekend and also that's graduation weekend. I'm not going to force that weekend on people, because I probably won't be available during that time either. Knowing that the 18th is the earliest that it could happen, Yahoo Group and LJ, start sounding off as to when would be good for you. I don't, as of yet, know when we have to be out of here, but when I do, I'll make a post. PR: *using the Royal We* We made a new poster last week because we were bored in class, but we haven't printed it out because we forgot we made it. Authors (Aaron): I've started looking at venues and talking to various professors about helping us organise. Old Business Everyone: CLEAN! Aaron: We have a website! AA: We're moving! New Business Ian: Show up Saturday. DO IT. Aaron: I just tossed a bunch of computer supplies, they're in a box at the end of the hallway. Feel free to take stuff, if you make a mess, I will kill you. Ian: All signatory officers are now eligible for Red Lantern rings. Be afraid. Announcements Ian: Regatta has been postponed to the original day we thought it was. Jackie: Fuck bureaucracy. Ian: This is my second to last meeting as a signatory. AA: My show is in its last performance during Campus Lifetime next Wednesday in the SAC. I'll be dragging people there. Aaron: Vest Paul deserves a round of applause because he went through the whole catalogue to make sure all of the "the's" and "and's" were done correctly. Meeting closed at 8:32 PM Nominations now, elections are next week. President: Howie, Jackie Treasurer: Julia, Aaron Secretary: Hoskie, Vest Paul (waiting for acceptance) Head AC: Ian, Mohammed, Peter, Adib, Phil Historian: Drow, Aaron
