1241136321 Emergency budget meeting notes - Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 We had an emergency meeting to make sure we got our allocations finished ahead of the deadline, I took notes since my laptop was the most handy, sorry for the couple day's lag time in posting. --Aaron Notes, Science Fiction Forum, Emergency Budget Meeting, Apr. 28th, 2009 5-7pm spent waiting for quorum, meeting begun when we had a full forum quota (at least 2 signatories, 12 members). Signatory officers in attendance were Ian (President), Julia (Treasurer), and Hoskie (Secretary). Ian: Debate over what to spend money on has been going on for a few days, best thing to do is compromise, so I, Julia, Aaron, and a whole bunch of others have contributed ideas. Julia: we are starting with a remaining budget of $839, we cannot spend on events, our book order was canceled due to not being useful *this* semester and thus not a good use of this semester's student activity fees according to USG. We also need to redo our picnic allocation from before. Aaron: Allocations: Julia: $246 for supplies for the forum picnic --->Allocation passes with 15 yays, no abstention, no nays $297.45 to Home depot for tools and supplies to make moving easier, including a power drill. --->Allocation passes with 13 yays, 1 abstention, and 1 nay $154.65 to Fourth World Comics for comic book and pulp storage supplies --->Allocation passes with 15 yays, no abstentions, no nays $123.98 to Demco for book care supplies --->Allocation passes with 15 yays, no abstentions, no nays Ian: This idea has been floated a lot, blame Aaron if it doesn't work, this is the exact *opposite* idea of the other allocations in the hopes that they can't come up with a reason to quash both without bending over backwards... $260 to Loews Stony Brook for tickets to the new Star Trek movie to *be given away* as a promotional device for the forum, method to be determined --->Allocation passes with 15 yays, no abstentions, no nays Meeting closed, all allocations taken care of.
