Meeting notes: Febraury 19th, 2009 [Feb. 19th, 2009|09:26 pm] hoskie Meeting called to order at 8:11 PM President’s Report: Note the follow does not apply to the sickly, infirmed, or people who live out of state, but for those of you who attend regularly: FUCK YOU, WE ALMOST DIDN’T HAVE QUORUM! Props to Commuter Dave, Em, and those who decided to work out but came later anyway. Not much has happened this week. I haven’t heard anything complaints from USG from our many allocations, so that’s probably good. Vice President’s Report (Ian): Apparently, Lukas would like to speak for Jackie and say, “This fudge is delicious.” CLEAN, I also imagine she would say. Treasurer’s Report (Ian): Allocations went in. We have not heard back. That means they haven’t screwed it up. Secretary’s Report: Is this announcements? Is this AC report? I have nothing else to say, so it’s going here: I will be hosting a Red Dwarf marathon NEXT FRIDAY starting at around 11:30 AM and going until as long as people hang around. There are approximately 26 hours worth of episodes, so I won’t be able to show all of them, but we’ll probably be able to get through a lot. MORE PEOPLE NEED TO WATCH RED DWARF! Librarian’s Report: We’re doing an excellent job. Keep up the good work. We have another shelf for the graphic novels. Soon I think we’ll have the library back up to the standard… like it was in the long long ago. The involvement fair went okay. AC Communist Collective: Keep cleaning, please. JAM Can is for recyclables, not plastic containers that food comes in… you cannot put that into a machine and get a deposit back! Magic players, if you use paper for a life counter, throw it out when you’re done. I would like to do some kind of gaming thing, we all have consoles, we could. CLEAN! Sub AC for Life: We have new movies. I went with a theme of “Robots Run Amok” and I got “Colossus: The Forbin Project,” “Demon Seed,” and “RoboCop 2.” Historian’s Report: On this day in 2009, Adib tried on my glasses. I am sorry about missing Sherman Raftenburg Day. I am angry that you guys didn’t actually go outside for it. GLEN IS FAT. I want to do a little speech for the upcoming anniversary, I will need: - Any old pictures you guys have. You can either e-mail them to me at decapitatrix @ yahoo.com or you can post them to the Forum LJ. I would particularly like a picture of Tracy Scott/Setsu and pictures of Bill Nolan and Tracy and if they have bred, I would like a picture of their offspring. - If anyone knows where the timeline or the first logs are, please let me know. - Also, feel free to call me, lots of people have my number. - (Hoskie volunteers his laptop for the PowerPoint presentation.) - If there have been any notable Forumite births or deaths, I would like to know about them. - I’m going to take a bunch of digital pictures of Forum objects of note. Also, we have found a treasure trove of stuff in the two cabinets in the library. - And lastly, if anyone has any early Forum stories they would like to share, tell me. I think that’s about it. February sucks. Committees Ian: One committee is incapacitated. Two committees have been tabled. Fundraising has not shown up… we need you to dance for money! Old Business (silence) New Business Em: For promotional purposes nothing has worked as well as wenches on trampolines. Ian: We’re going to table this until next week when we have more people and an idea of prices. If anyone has a small trampoline they would be willing to donate, that would be fantastic. Announcements Ian: Ian has been an unhappy person this week. He has been writing one paper for over 20 hours. It’s not supposed to be a 20 hour paper, it’s just a topic that’s that annoying. I have not been the most talkative or pleasant person this week. Hopefully things will improve. Please don’t make my life harder. Older Forumites! We’ve heard your suggestions as to where to start placing advertisements and we’re working on making announcements on those sites now. That said, nothing is really going to replace you talking to each other! We beg you, tell as many Forumites that you know about the 40th, even if you already think they know. It’s March 15th in SAC Ballroom A from 4pm to 8pm. The library and lounge will be open from at least noon and there will also be a tour of the new space as well. Adib: If you haven’t already, read “The Long Halloween.” It’s AWESOME. Em: We are having another Friday 13th in March. If anyone is into zombies and can make it into New York on the morning of March 13th, you should come with us to get tattoos. Howie: God dammit, Adib. I hate you so much. Phil: “Mattman says: Hiiii, Ian.” AA: Watchmen premieres in two weeks! Meeting closed at 8:40 PM
