March 12, 2008 meeting notes [Mar. 12th, 2008|06:45 pm] alwaysbored89 Premeeting discovery: Treasurer is in charge of money. Meeting called to order at 7:03 PM. Matt, ignoring his own Jewishness, balmes the Jews for lateness. Corrects himself to only blame the brunette Jews. President: We missed our budget appeals, but so did everyone so that shouldn't mean anything too bad. Motion to acknowledge that swimming in a pile of $25,000 $1 checks is awesome. Seconded. Vote is held, motion carries. VP: Took our Home Depot allocation to Home Depot. Thanks to Bobby for providing transportation. We now have kick ass mop and bucket. So now, when you spill, mop it up. Also have kick ass garbage bags: 55 gallons and thick as all hell. So if the trash is at the top of the bucket, change it. Bags are in the library, if you don't know where, someone in here will. And for cryin' outloud, clean up your trash. I don't need to walk in here every morning and throw away twenty bottles/cans/bags/pieces of paper/rubber bands/whatever the hell else you make a mess with. Treasurer: Was never taught anything about his job. Don't loose your checks! If I hand you a check and you can't actually cash it, get an officer to come cash it with you. Loosing checks freezes our budget. Its happened before. We don't want to be like that. Secretary: Fails at showing up today. Your awesome Jackie is here in his place. se reminds the room that Bobby is not her pimp. She keeps all the money she makes. Librarian: Roman:*Russian accent* Got rid of some old shiftholder documents for people not shiftholding this semester. Sam: You shredded them, right? Cause there's personal information... Roman: *wonders where he threw them out to* Took down a book request list because it was filled. Will hopefully be allocated for next meeting (not next week) Forum library livejournal hasn't been used in about a year, would like to start it again. If you're interested, message Roman. Book Club: Superman Red Sun was yesterday. Was pretty short, but thats cause it was short. Went well. iRobot will be March 25. Snacks will be available. April 29 will be World War Z. Probably will be last book club of semester because Mid-May is finals. Would like another dramatic reading sometime because last week's was awesome. Looking for (unintentionally) funny books. If anyone knows any Legends of the Hidden Temple books, that would be awesome. Shiftholders schedule has gone through changes. If you don't get your shit together, you'll loose your shifts. I may take you off schedule completely. If you do good, you can get key though. Welcoming newest shiftholder, Hoskie. *applause* AC: Round of applause for Adib. He ran an awesome Mindfuck today. Next movie night is after break, Kim's volunteered to do Vincent Price (as a movie night) Will be called "The Price is Right." Will include Last Man on Earth, House of Wax more maybe and a break for thriller. Vote on our website. Saturday will be the only time you can be in Forum and playing Smash. Phil will be bringing in the game and his Wii. It'll be starting at sometime around 11. Freeplay till around 5, then it'll move onto tournament play. PHIL IS IN CHARGE for it is his stuff. After Price is Right will be Star Trek 101 because Matt and Orange's Sci-Fi class fails at knowing Star Trek. We'll be teaching Star Trek science and other nifty things. Bobby: The Enterprise doesn't have any bathrooms. Matt: Moving on... Orange: (They) Still don't know what Regatta's theme is, so yeah. CS: Lisa: Round of applause for JC for being only CS person here. JC: Making homepage prettier. Will be doing this slowly so there aren't any gigantic sweeping changes. Matt: Reminding everyone we're voting on constitution tonight. *glares at Bobby* COMMITTEES: Fundraising: Forum makes no money because Roman fails. Advertising: Lisa: So maybe we'll do those flyer thingies for book club and stuff. Orange: Yeeeaaaah... Community Service: No word from SSKArts Festival. OLD BUSINESS: Bobby: Can't sleep. I-Con will eat me. *discussion over whether or not its actually old business. 'Tis second oldest business, only to prostitution.*full circle moment** Matt: Moving onto voting on Constitution changes. *voting related type stuff. Matt foaming at mouth* Yay: 15. No 17. Averaged to 16. Nay: 0 Abstention: 4 Changes pass. Roman appoints JC the system administrator in charge of website. NEW BUSINESS: *apparently none* HALFWAY BUSINESS: Matt: Forum and I-Con. During I-Con, more than ever, we need to enforce keyholder rule. We will be talking about deadbolting. I won't be around a lot. Relying on E-Board to keep things running. AND NO DRINKING DOWN HERE. If someone's doing something stupid, no. No babysitting (don't leave your minors in forum. Those pesky things can be slippery, but make sure people who are down here keep their belongings (ie, their children) when they leave). Howie is in charge of our I-Con table, but that doesn't mean he is doing it all by himself. Its the same thing as club involvement. Sam: If you're a shiftholder and going to I-Con, I expect you to be at table at least 1 hour. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Sam: Pi day is Friday. Matt: Voting opened Monday for New USG Constitution. Goes till noon Friday. Vote. Heather: Renaissance Ball is Saturday, April 12th, 7-11 pm at Tabler Arts Center. Lisa: Don't put stuff on the board outside without approval. Ian motions to close. Seconded by Bobby. Acclimated. Meeting closed at 8:00.
