The Regatta is being held April 27, 2007.

The Theme for this year should be up before March 15th.

There is also some decisions to be made as to what we are desgining for. Historically Bev had her mind set on trying to claim the prestigous "Best In Show" And personally, I agree.

Every year there are the boats shaped like kayaks that toss one person in for the speedsters, and two people in for the yacht class, and dominate in speed. There are also boats built like tanks, not meant to win the race, but Best in Show.

I think we should build a boat that could possibly win the race, but is more designed to compete for Best In Show. Opinions on this?

We are obviously stuck until March 15th when we know the theme to start designing.

In the meantime, we are going to need the following from the membership at large:

Corrugated Cardboard. Large pieces of it - in large quantities. If you have some, or for instance, buy a refrigerator/ large appliance. Please please pretty please bring it in! I have to set up with bobby where this stuff will take over the lounge but i think behind the white couch and behind the gray couch are the usual places.

Tubes. Not paper towel tubes, but the large cardboard carpet tubes. I have a supplier for them, I just need someone with a mondo vehicle to help me on transporting them.

Volunteers. For the build, and for the actual race. If you are interested in being in the boat, let me know! Once we have a theme and then a design, I'll be working on the boat while I'm in the forum Tuesdays and Thursdays, and leaving instructions of what else needs to be done so that people can still work on it when I'm not there.
