Not a whole bunch of people showed up, so I'm going to give a fairly detailed account of what happened. *Our main goal for the summer will be getting the library completely cataloged and on the computer, if not online. To this end we allocated $337.92 ($84.48 ea.) for 4 more double sided book shelving units. This will extend each row of bookshelves out one more unit. *Time is running out to take advantage of the $100 group rate price to Worldcon in Baltimore this August. I must have the money in hand by June 5th. If you don't think you will see me in person, please mail a check made out to Bucconneer to my home address at 27 Mystic Way, Stony Brook, NY 11790. *We received 2 1/2 boxes of new science fiction, donated by Barbara Lowe. Our treasurer is completing a 'tax write off/thank you' letter. *Letters have been sent out to HarperPrism and Avon books, requesting that we be put on their book review list. An additional letter was sent to Berkly to tell them that they should no longer send books to Polity's old student union address, but send stuff to the Student Activity Center. *Doug Beekman (a professional Fantasy/Science Fiction artist who signed our wall during this last ICON) and Michael Kandel (Science Fiction author) have accepted membership into the Science Fiction Forum. Their support is greatly appreciated! *The online membership page at http://www.sf4m.org/members/index.html has been updated to include many "old" Forum members. Please check this web page out and e-mail me missing or inaccurate information. *Bring subscription forms for magazines that you would like the Forum to consider getting to the next meeting. We will be making allocations at that time. ***Please NOTE: Summer Meeting times have been officially changed to 9:10 pm. Still on Weds.*** *The Godzilla marathon and movie run were successful. *TV night will continue on meeting nights during the summer. Some programming choices have been changed do to summer repeats. *Softball! Their will be a practice tomorrow, Thurs. 5/28/98 at 4:30 on one of the athletic fields behind the gym with Victor's team. We have until the second game to settle on who will be on our team. Our team name is "The Science Fiction Forum Wookies" - slogan: "Let the Wookies Win!" *There will be a party at the Hive this Saturday at 6 pm. *New options for getting into the Forum during the summer have been placed on the door. That's All Folks! Hope you are enjoying your summer. Much more efficient. If you notice on the front page www.sf4m.org, the site is under construction, and comments are appreciated. Insults however, aren't. Whose idea was it to do this stupid table thing, with vertical centering, no less? Very inefficient and clutzy to use, greatly inferior to the old arrangement. Also, the personal links are almost all deactivated... Gorno
