The Science Fiction Forum has acquired space from the Math Department,

the room directly across from the current Forum in Harriman 029. This

will allow the library to spread out into the rest of the original space

- much needed space, we will finanly be able to get many books out off

boxes - and use the new room for a new lounge/meeting room and media

viewing room - also much needed, as the other room had become way too

cramped. We will be moving things shortly.

Things we are looking for:

Shelves, decorations (including new design ideas for the new door),

possibly a second cheapy t.v. -- as always book donations and tiles.

***Comic book fundraiser will be taking place on Nov. 19th in the lobby

of the SAC from 12-3ish. Planet Comics in the mall is under new

management, and we won't be getting any donations from them this time

around. Please ask your local comic store if they would like to donate

anything.

***Penny fundraiser is happening in the forum... bring in your penny

jars and dump them in the water bottle located next to the desk in the

Forum. The faster it gets filled up, the sooner it's hard for people to

pick up and borrow from.

Both of these fundraisers are for attending the World Science Fiction in

August next year.

On the 22nd (the day of the punishment party) Colleen will be holding a

LARP (Live Action Role Play) in Javits. You need to comtact her if you

would like to participate in order to make charaters and figure out what

team you will be on. Her e-mail is c*****l@****.com

And TODAY (friday), meet at the Forum at 4:00 to go Rock (Wall)

Climbing. The place is in Plainview I believe, and costs about $20.

You get a lesson, then have the rest of the night to climb. Rob says

that you should definately NOT wear jeans... try sweat pants and that

everyone should try it.. don't worry about your strength. :) We'll car

pool too - so just come and we'll figure out a way to get you there.

The are two parties coming up. **One is at Laura and Wendy's on the

8th. That's this weekend for all of you that can't believe that

November is actually moving swiftly by.

**The second party is a "You've all been very naughty! Report to the

president's house for punishment!" party at my place on Nov. 22nd. It

had to be done. :)

IMPORTANT NOTICE to SMOKERS... please do not put your cigarettes out

against the wall outside the Forum, and if at all possible avoid smoking

in the Harriman building at all. We have gotten complaints from a

building manager. Building managers have power... let's try to hold on

to the new room!
