A contradance is a folk dance style in which couples dance in two facing lines. The name derives from the name of a French dance very popular in the 18th century and means "counter-dance". A hobby of Turtle, Jim Prego, Silent Drew and Janet Jongebloed among other Forumites.

The Long Island Traditional Music Association puts on several contradance events per month, along with other events such as ballroom dancing, music jams, english country dances, ect..
